Brownie is a dog meat trade survivor. Brownie is blind and cannot see. He was rescued in South Korea where small dogs are discarded and are at risk of being tortured, killed and eaten. Brownie's story is one of missed chances. He was adopted in 2024, however he didn't make the flight because he was poorly. In June 2024, Louise visited the shelter and her first question was 'where's Brownie?' His original adopter was still wanting to adopt him. The illness that prevented him from flying had now gone, but Louise was very upset to find he was now blind. During her visit, Louise took him back to her apartment where he slept peacefully and deeply all night and each morning she would take him back to his friends at the shelter. Two days before he arrived the original adopter became poorly and said she couldn't now have him. How unlucky can a little boy be? There was no way he was not making this flight so he arrived in the UK in the early hours of 23rd July 2024. Knowing his blindness had been sudden and knowing also that it was advanced, Louise asked her vet to rush through a referral to an eye specialist. The situation as we write this is as follows: 1 Brownie's left eye has absolutely no sight and is causing him pain and it needs to be removed 2 His right eye has a luxating lens which means his lense has moved and so cataract surgery is not possible. The lens needs to be removed 3 The surgery may not be successful however he needs a chance. He's had such bad luck in his life so far. 4 He has a heart murmur so he needs a heart scan before surgery We are a very small charity powered by hard-working volunteers and we do not have the financial resources for this operation. With the consultations, the operation and aftercare medication, the cost will be circa £7,000 Please join us and together we can change Brownie's luck! He needs this chance. Please donate to help Brownie! Thank you! x
