After several years of not competing, Alex and Soaring Bird have qualified for the AECs (American Eventing Championships), which will take place in Kentucky from 8/29-9/3/2024. Qualifying and actually competing in a national championship event (especially one at the iconic Kentucky Horse Park!) is something Alex never thought she would have the chance to do, so after a lot of deliberation, she is doing all she can to make this opportunity a reality. When Alex shared that she and Soaring Bird had qualified for AECs but that the cost of traveling was going to be a prohibitive factor in this whole crazy plan, I figured this was a solvable problem. Alex has been such a good friend to so many of us over the years, let's see if we can help cover the costs of transporting Bird safely to and from Kentucky. Contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated! And then all that's left for us to do is send "soaring" thoughts in the direction of Kentucky at the end of August!
