Hi, my name is Ace. I am a 19-year-old, queer Black trans man hoping to attend college this upcoming Fall. I am pursuing a major in Art History, and hoping to minor in biology. One day, I hope to become an art conservator. I currently live in New York City, which is a very over-stimulating environment as someone with anxiety and depression. I just finished my freshman year in an Honors program at John Jay - I loved school and got good grades, but I struggled at times due to the intensity of my environment. I am invested in continuing my education and want to set myself up for success. I have been accepted to schools in small cities upstate, and I am very excited about the opportunity to live somewhere that feels safer and more accessible, and where I can achieve my goals. My family does what they can to support me, but we have been living in poverty for my whole life. Unfortunately, they can't help me pay for college. I was lucky enough to receive some grants and scholarships to help pay for tuition and room & board. But even with those, and taking out the maximum amount of loans allowed, I will still have outstanding expenses that I need support with so I can leave the city and fully participate in my education. Anything you can give will help. Thank you so much for your support!
