Hi! This sweet girl is Abbey! She is 11 years old and deaf. Her family raised her from a 6 week old puppy. With a new baby and another child to care for, they decided they did not have time to give her the attention she deserved. My heart broke thinking about this darling girl being sent off not knowing why she was losing her family and her home. Despite having two other dogs, I knew my husband and I could give her a loving home and tons of hugs, kisses and care. We quickly realized her teeth had been severely neglected and are prepared to spend $4k to have them cleaned. However, we were not prepared for some of the issues we uncovered as we did the necessary tests to ensure she could handle the anesthesia she would need to have her teeth cleaned. Now we are facing a mountain of vet bills. Abbey still has so much life left in her so we want to do whatever we can to make sure they're as good as possible. We have already taken money from our retirement account to pay for all of the tests and are hoping others will consider helping us with the growing costs we are encountering.
