HELP US TO CONTINUE MAKING A DIFFERENCE BY PROVIDING HEALING SERVICES WITH THE REMARKABLE HORSES AT HARMONY FARM. My name is Nancy Goldman. As a mental health professional with over 40 years of experience, I've dedicated my life to trauma-informed psychotherapy. My unique integrative perspective, combining psychiatric/mental health clinical nursing and counseling, allows me to treat the whole person. For the past 30 years, I've been the proud owner of Harmony Farm. We use the farm's serene natural environment and incredible animals to provide therapeutic and equine assisted psychotherapy services. From offering discounted rates to underserved populations, serving as a Medicare provider, and assisting survivors of human trafficking through equine-assisted psychotherapy, we strive to provide life changing care. (We hope to expand services to include adolescent survivors of human trafficking and other special needs populations.) However, unforeseen circumstances have taken a toll on our farm operations. The tragic death of my husband in 2019 left me with unexpected debt, and the COVID-19 pandemic impacted our office practice, the proceeds from which helped fund the costly farm operation. To ensure the farm's vitality, I had to sell my house, barn and part of the property, leaving us in need of a new barn, fencing, and infrastructure for equine-assisted therapy. We estimate the cost of this project to exceed $50,000, covering the needs of our six horses, an ancient pony, and two donkeys – most of whom are rescues – as well as providing a covered area for therapy sessions during inclement weather, a bathroom, and more. We have been given a short timeframe to move the horses and build a new barn for them. Due to the heat in Mississippi this time of year, our need is urgent.
