Hey! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Mark Merica. I’m 21 years old and live in South Carolina with my Mom, Dad and 3 younger siblings. I haven’t always lived in South Carolina, or even the US for that matter. I also didn’t always have the amazing opportunities that I have now. I spent the first 10 years of my life in Uganda, 7 of those years in an orphanage. God has always provided for me, even back then but it wasn’t always in abundance like it has been the last decade. Things like clothing and food for instance weren’t always the easiest to come by and it’s hard not to forget going to bed on an empty stomach or what not having shoes to wear feels like. There’s a large part of me that still remembers and is unable to forget where I’ve came from. An opportunity with my church has presented itself. They are going to Guatemala in December and I feel led to be part of the Missions team. I want to give back and be the hands and feet of Jesus. I know God is planning to use me and my past experiences as an orphan to help speak life and love into the children there. The cost of the trip is $2,000 and even though I have some of my own money saved up that I will be using to help fund the cause, I’m still in need of some financial assistance. I’m asking if you could please pray and see if God would put anything on your heart to help me get to Guatemala this winter.
