As one of the most renowned high school football programs in the state of Pennsylvania (709 wins all-time), Greensburg Salem, its students, alumni, and the community have always taken great pride in the competitiveness and success of the Golden Lions on the gridiron. First-year head coach Ty George is 100% committed to continuing this tradition through hard work, attention to detail and fundamentals, and accountability from our student-athletes and coaching staff. The first step in this process is to build the infrastructure and support system that promotes success. Along with an excellent staff, Coach George has jump-started this effort. However, the program needs your support as well. Over the years, financial costs for individual school-based teams have increased and the building blocks of success for our student-athletes have become a greater challenge. Equipment needs for everyday participation (cleats, apparel, helmets, and newly mandated helmet guards for safety, etc.), off-season training equipment such as weights, basic nutritional support, and team/individual skill-based camps are just a few of the building blocks for success. Obviously, these all cost money. Therefore, independent fund-raising is essential to build and maintain the foundation of any successful program. We are asking for the support of the former Golden Lion players who take so much pride in Greensburg Salem football. Moving forward, the coaching staff and other interested parties will organize annual fundraising efforts to help support these needs. But they need help getting off the ground. We've formed a new football alumni group - "Friends of the Program" - for this very purpose. We are asking for your direct financial support to help this booster group provide financial assistance to the 2024 Golden Lions. We hope that all the football alumni with fond memories of their days at Offutt Field will consider supporting the program.
