Hello everyone I'm Katryna aka Kitty and I run equine halfway house pony rescue and refuge-Equine welfare network, we are a registered charity (NIC101288) and we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome equines that are abandoned, unwanted, neglected or can not stay with their owners. Covid and now the cost of living crisis has hit us twofold. Not only are we struggling with the rising prices, but more people are struggling to keep their ponies and are neglecting them, abandoning the or surrendering them. We are happy and comfortable on our rented farm, but we really, REALLY NEED more ground. Land that we can cut for hay in the summer and graze ponies on in the winter. We are really struggling with Haylage/hay costs all year and struggling with mud when it's wet, which these days, is not just autumn and winter. It's now, in July, we already have so much mud The more I can raise, the more land I can buy and therefore the better life will be for our ponies. That is my number one priority. THE PONIES There is a small local field currently for sale for 25k and it would be a great start. But I'm keen to raise more, for security for our ponies. No donation is too small and each and every penny will be appreciated and used for land purchase. It will also be forever used for rescue. If anything was to happen to our charity steps will be taken so that ponies from other rescues can use the land or it will be sold and money divided between Northern Ireland rescues. This is not my trying to get everyone else to buy me ground. THIS IS ALL FOR THE PONIES I OUR CARE NOW AND IN THE FUTURE I expect this will take some time, but I'd love to at least raise the 25k to start.
