There are 240 children aged between 4-14 years in Wandeche Primary School in the Diocese of Maseno North in Kenya. Many of these children and their families experience extreme poverty. They walk long distances to school and spend the day learning without food. The school is in need of repair, without electricity, basic resources, equipment and very limited funding. The video show holes in the floors, walls and roof, no guttering, windows without glass, external toilets in total disrepair, limited storage for books and copies. Education is the children’s key to escaping poverty. At the end of August, I and a team of 11 other volunteers from Rathmichael Parish and School are travelling to Wandeche to refurbish the school. We want to make it a more inviting, child centred environment that is conducive to learning. We have already secured 250 filled pencil cases for the Wandeche children. Lets support them further. All money raised will go towards this project. I am grateful for any support you can offer.
