This August, Bar Monkey Calisthenics, a local club within the community of Ballybrack, will have four athletes representing Ireland in the WSWCF World Championships. Three of these athletes are just 14 years old making them the youngest Irish athletes ever to compete on this world stage, having come through the club since they were 7 years old. Additionally, our female representative is the first-ever female athlete from Ireland to compete at this level. This is an amazing opportunity for these young people to represent our club, the community of Ballybrack and our country. It also allows the club to positively impact the community we come from, developing positive role models and peers within the area for young people to look up to and aspire to while showcasing the opportunities available to them. Our coaches that will support the athletes are Ballybrack locals who have developed the club into a positive contributor to the lives of young people in the community. The club has over 260 members currently and delivers programmes to primary and secondary schools in the area. We hope that through fundraising, we can reduce the costs attributed to participating in the World Championships (participation fees, travel costs, hotels, flights etc.) for our young athletes. These costs total €8,000 and we appreciate any donation, no matter how small, in helping to provide lifelong memories to the young people participating and supporting our community as a whole by inspiring future generations to participate in the sport. No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or promotions are offered in exchange for any donations made. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us!
