I would like to introduce you to a wonderful man, whom you may never have met, Gerard Lamarche. Gerard was a force- kind, gentle, outspoken, witty, smart, daring, brave, and strong; but above all else, he was a loving, caring soul. Gerard was everything a man could be. A loving husband, father of four beautiful daughters, grandfather, son, uncle and a dear friend. He loved camping, hiking, a nice glass of wine, rumaging for special trinkets in antique shops, and enjoying time with his friends and family. I am so honored and lucky to have been able to consider this special soul both family and friend. There are so many things I would love you to know about this man, his adventures would carry you for pages. Let me say this, Gerard lived as he was known, he loved life, believed in being kind and embraced each day. He was surrounded by friends and family who adored him and we are all the better for his love and example. A little over two years ago, Gerard was diagnosed with a vicious disease called Stage 4 Advanced Non Small Cell lung cancer. Though it was a shocking discovery, Gerard took that diagnosis with grace and decided to give it his all. Though the prognosis wasn't good, Gerard was not going to let a date stamp define his life. He fought with valor through chemotherapy, Covid and Pneumonia. He stayed positive and strong, and continued to live his life. He continued to work, be the love and partner to the light of his life, David. He battled his disease, rarely showing fear, always with a smile on his sweet face. Making sure to be positive, putting us all at ease. Yesterday, after a long and difficult fight, the heavens gained this sweet angel. Gerard Lamarche courageously fought a battle inside himself. He was surrounded by those he loved as he was called home. The hole left in our hearts will forever be empty, memories and laughter will help to replace the hurt. I am writing today to ask for your assistance. The medical and funeral expenses are large. This fundraiser is to help alleviate some of the financial burden now on David. Times are tight for everyone, but even a small amount will help. Please, share this post and donate if your heart calls you to. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time. Thank you again for your kind donations. If you would prefer to donate to David directly, please reach out to me.
