With a heavy heart, we are asking for your help to give a very special woman, Kay, the send off she deserves. On Thursday, Kay Hardisty, aged only 40, passed away from Breast Cancer. A mum and a fiancé, a heroine with whit and a Boss to the end. Kay leaves behind 3 boys - James who is an absolute credit to Kay, excelling in senior school, also 13 in 2 week's. George, 3 years old, who is a whirlwind of laughter and starts school nursery in September - both also train mad. Sadly, Noah didn't make full term and sleeps at the Sands Memorial Garden at Markeaton. Finally, fiancee Martin what an amazing man, supported Kay through the good & the bad, a great rolemodel/Dad to the boys. This girl and her family had so many knockbacks and were let down with treatment and a lack of support from certain designated charities and the hospital. Despite this, Kay never complained, caused a fuss, asked for help financially or otherwise - to see a friend battling breast cancer the way Kay did was an inspiration. Unfortunately it recently came to light that Kay’s treatment was no longer working causing strain on her heart as the cancer spread. Then last week she caught Pheumonia while in hospital, leading to her passing away sooner than expected. Kay had planned her funeral but all savings have had to be used to pay bills as being unwell left her unable to work, leaving nothing left to pay for the funeral which is were you and I come in. As we all know, everything is expensive right now and the last thing that Kay’s loved ones should have to worry about while grieving the loss of their beloved mum, fiancée, sister and friend, is the cost of her funeral, so the purpose of this fundraiser is to raise as much money as possible to give Kay the send off she deserves and celebrate her life, while taking the financial strain off her family. It has only been 48 hours since Kay passed, so I will update this page when more details are available.
