On August 1st 2024, Brandon Wood had a sudden heart attack walking down the street to his truck after working his shift at the shipyard. He wasn't found immediately and unfortunately, he didn't make it. He left behind a loving wife and (2) young boys who have not only lost their husband and father but also the only source of income they had. In the immediate we need to raise about $20,000 to cover funeral expenses, but moving forward they will need financial help to get by until they figure out what options are available to them. Growing up Brandon was the 2nd oldest of our cousin group growing up. He was like my brother before Justin got here. He was always humble and kind, and always did his best to serve others well. He worked as hard as anyone I know and gave life everything he had to give. With the current state of the economy and extremely inflated costs of everything, Brandon had to make a tough decision to leave his career at HRSD to begin working at the shipyard for a small increase in pay. He loved his new job very much, but in leaving HRSD he lost all of his benefits and life insurance. This was completely unexpected and Brandon was only 40 years old. We want to help cover the cost of his funeral, and leave a little bit extra to help his wife and kids as they begin to navigate forward without him. If you can do anything to help, please do so. Thank you all for your kindness and support. Please keep his family in your prayers in the days ahead. Our hearts are truly broken.
