As many of you know our beloved grandmother Mary J Bjorkman passed away on the 4th of July. We are all truly devastated and finding it very hard with each passing day. On Friday, June 30th Grandma Mary was having chest pain and she was asked a few times if she was alright or if would she need someone to call 911. She said no and she was fine. Saturday, July 1st her chest was hurting worse, and she yelled for my Grandpa Paul to come help her from the bathroom. He helped her from the bathroom to the chair in their living room and also called the nurse line to see if they needed to call 911, which yes, they did need to call 911 and have her checked. When the paramedics came, they said her blood sugar was over 500, and her blood pressure was 60 something. When she arrived at the hospital, her blood sugar was 628 and her kidneys, lungs, and heart were failing. Also, she had a temperature over 100 and they needed to go down. They intubated her and sedated her and found she had pneumonia, strep throat, sepsis, and fluid in her lungs, and around her heart. The doctors wanted to do an angiogram on her, but she needed to breathe on her own for them to do that. They tried doing an oxygen test on her at least 4 different times that I know of and failed them all. She had started to improve, so the doctors started weening her off some of the medications, and on the 3rd day, very unexpected and very suddenly took a turn for the worse and passed. With all this going on Grandpa Paul is having a very hard time losing his wife. Grandma Mary was the one in charge of the bills and finances. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much in their bank account, and we are asking for help, so Grandpa doesn’t have to worry about any kind of financial struggle for his decisions with the funeral and other expenses that have arisen since Grandma Mary's passing.
