Leah Acton was a vivacious wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She was a super mom to five, the loving companion to her husband Greg, an elementary school teacher, and a force for good in her community. On Thursday, July 13th, 2024, Leah’s husband Greg awoke to find her unresponsive in the bed beside him. She had passed away quietly in her sleep at the age of 53. She leaves behind her husband and five children, ages 25, 23, 19, 16, and 13 who are reeling from this trauma. Leah was healthy and happy even up to the time of her death, so we are left wondering how this could happen. The medical examiner believes it may take up to 90 days to determine a cause of death and issue a death certificate, though they have released her body for burial. This 90-day delay means the family will not have access to any life insurance or other subsequent funds to pay for funeral expenses and related costs, instead needing to take on the full weight of this up front. We are asking the community who loved Leah to help us rally behind her family at this time. In addition to the sudden heartbreak of losing a wife and mother, the family is facing the unexpected cost of funeral expenses with the knowledge that they will also be living without Leah’s income going forward. We are asking for support to help ease this difficult transition and be able to lay her to rest where her family will be able to visit her with some frequency, in Utah. All donations will be used directly for costs associated the funeral and burial of Leah. Greg has chosen to bury her in American Fork, Utah, where they have close family and as it is a place they visited frequently together. Donations will be used to help in the transport and burial of Leah in Utah as well as the funeral which will take place near their current residence in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Any additional donations will be used to support the children of Leah. This LFEBridge is being organized by Abby Acton, a niece of Leah Acton. If you would prefer to donate through Venmo, you can Venmo Greg directly @Gregory-Acton-3
