CLICK "READ MORE" FOR LATEST UPDATE. Hi, My name is Bruno Arana. I was out on a walk with my dog, Dakota; she was frightened by something. She then got loose of her collar and began running into oncoming traffic. This caused her to be hit by a car and left with a shattered elbow that is beyond repair. She now has to get her leg amputated in order for her to live. I would be very grateful for any donations of any quantity of money. Ella es muy importante para mi y toda mi familia Update from Franco Arana: The surgery was successful!!! Although Dakota has one less leg, the vet allowed her to come back home with her family the last Tuesday 07/11. Unfortunately, things did not go as expected. During her time at home, Dakota did not want to eat or drink anything. Her body rejected food, water, and all of her medicines. As a consequence, we took Dakota back to the vet on July 12th. On July 14th, the vet finished with all the exams needed and got the conclusion that she's suffering from inflammation in some internal organs which is creating an intestinal blockage. She'll be there a few more days. I have been going to visit every day and she appears to be improving. She's not out of the woods yet. But she's on her way because she is a strong warrior. Dakota's second stay in the hospital has also increased her vet bills. For this reason, we have raised the donation goal to $13,000. No further surgeries or procedures are anticipated at this time, so this will hopefully be the last time we have to raise the goal. Thank you for your support! 07/19/2024   My sweet Dakota passed away around 2:00pm. Her body couldn’t recover from the accident. She did her best, we did what we could, the vet tried his best, but it wasn’t enough. Although my baby is not with me anymore, I know that she is not suffering anymore and is at peace. Dakota, I loved you since the first day I met you and I always will. You gained an important space in my heart. Love you Dakota
