Mr.Dingus took a tumble down a flight of steps and has fractured his elbow resulting in some alarming medical bills. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, I noticed my second French bulldog Winston experiencing IVDD flare ups. Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is a common source of back pain in dogs, especially in older dogs but also in younger dogs of predisposed breeds. The severity and type of disc injury can vary widely, ranging from mild discomfort to paralysis. In order to prevent this in Winston, as well as Mr. Dingus, it requires me to continue their diet which consist of prescription dog food which cost me about $130 a month on top of a pretty intense, vitamin and supplement regimen. Hopefully we can keep this at bay, but it’s looking like he’s going to need the surgery. Pet insurance is not an option for us as this incident has already occurred. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mom has since secured pet insurance.
