With deep sorrow, I want you to know that my friend Francisco passed away on Sunday, June 25th. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son. At home, Francisco was a loving husband and father. He deeply enjoyed nature - beaches and lakes were his second home. He loved bringing his family outdoors to camp, wind surf, and kayak. His family describe him as adventurous, funny, charismatic, and so kind-hearted. Francisco also enjoyed photography, experimenting with technologies, and helping friends. At work, Francisco was a passionate, dedicated, and genuine person. He had served the State since 2006, spending the last 12 years at the California Lottery managing and delivering enterprise application solutions. His positive attitude and energy shone all the time, and he had a natural talent in finding and sharing the good in every situation, even when a mission appeared impossible. Over the past 2 years, Francisco fought a mighty battle against cancer and left this world too soon. One of his last wishes was to become part of the redwood forest that he so loved, nestled in Santa Cruz, California. Please consider making a donation to help Francisco’s wish come true. Any contribution and kind thoughts are appreciated. A funeral service will be held for Francisco at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Rocklin, California on 7/26 at 1 p.m., followed by a slideshow honoring his life in the church’s Social Room. Light refreshments will be provided. While his family is grateful for those who wish to bring flowers, floral arrangements have already been made for the event. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a nature conservatory.
