Francis “Fran” Holahan III, a Navy Veteran, husband, father and friend, unexpectedly passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 58, leaving behind his wife and high school-aged daughter. Unfortunately, his tragic loss has left his family in need and that is why I started this fundraiser for his family. My name is Teri and I work with Fran’s wife. She and I have been friends for over 20 years so I knew Fran personally and can tell you that he was an outgoing and hardworking man, always ready to lend a hand to a friend in need. From his proud Naval service through Operation Desert Storm with the ‘Seabees’ Construction Battalion to his more recent profession as a NETTS driving instructor, Fran gave 110% to everything he did. A gifted teacher, Fran was a favorite among many students. He thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on, one-on-one nature of training and the personal relationships and trust he developed with them. Fran will fondly be remembered for his big heart and desire to help a student succeed or to assist a friend in need. He was the type of guy who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone and find out he knew your best friend’s second cousin or find some other way he could connect with you. Always ready with a joke (usually a corny one) and a mischievous twinkle in his blue eyes, Fran’s was a full life, well-lived and rich in friendship and love. His passing shocked me. I will miss him and yes, even his jokes! With Fran’s untimely passing, I ask if you will help his family. Donations will help cover any outstanding medical bills, legal and essential everyday expenses to assist Fran's wife and teenage daughter as they rebuild their lives without Fran and his income.
