On the morning of Tuesday, July 4th, when this great country was celebrating freedom, my beautiful cousin (who was more like a sister to me), Marica Mara, was brutally stabbed to death by her husband in her apartment in Santa Rosa, California. While we are still trying to come to terms with this unimaginable act of violence, that pales in comparison to what her 5 children in Fiji are going through right now. She was their backbone, their no 1 cheerleader and their financial provider. Even though she was in the US while they were in Fiji, she was always present in their lives making sure that every achievement was celebrated, and their every need or want was met. Marica was just a wonderful human being to everyone who knew her, and the greatest mother to her children. Their loss is an unimaginable one. This LFEBridge has been set up to help her children deal with this traumatic loss.
