Farnham Powerchair Football Club was founded in 2024 by a group of parents and volunteers. Since that time with the support of family and friends and some small grants we have found a venue, acquired second-hand chairs and built a storage facility. With the kind and generous donations from family, friends and followers we raised £6,000 last year helping us buy our own team kit, cover regular training costs as well as van hire and fuel to get our equipment to and from our matches. In our first year, we have joined the South East League and have played many competitive matches against other regional teams. We were the proud winners of the South East League Fair Play award. Whilst team spirits are high and training is going well, we have only scored one goal to date and not yet won a single match. We feel supported and motivated to do better next season. We have lots of enthusiastic team members, coaches and cheerleaders but in order to improve our game and start scoring more goals and eventually win matches we need to not only keep training and improving our set pieces, game strategies and focus but critically we need more modern and faster Powerchairs with better manoeuvrability and greater acceleration. We have 7 regular players who all want to play to the best of their ability and compete in the League. We, therefore, ask again for your kind support to raise £3,000 to purchase an almost new DB BULLET Powerchair (that has been offered to us). These are hand-built chairs made in North Yorkshire, and meet the specifications outlined by the Wheelchair Football Association. Thanks so much for your support! Sports for all! Come on Farnham Flames!
