Family and friends of Tony Crossley, aka ‘Bear’ On behalf of Tony’s mum Larraine, his daughter Georgia, and the extended Weaver/Crossley family, we have created this page to humbly ask for contributions towards Tony’s funeral costs. Tony was taken from us rather suddenly this past week, and the loss has been felt far and wide across southeast Queensland, around the country and across the ditch to New Zealand. He was a gentle giant, our ‘Big Brown Bear’, and his infectious smile and great hugs will be sorely missed. He always brought fun and laughter to those around him, and made you grateful to be in his presence. Tony suffered physically and neurologically for the last 15 years due to a stroke in 2008, which weakened his heart, affected his walk, his talk, and required countless medications and medical care. But through it all, he would love, laugh, and make every person in the room feel bloody wonderful, and his mannerisms and funny quotes will live on far beyond him. The family intends to hold a formal memorial for Tony in Toowoomba, as well as a second celebration at the Gem Hotel in Alberton (‘beer 1-2-10!’) further details of both to follow. As we all know, costs of everything have risen, and that extends to funeral services. Early estimates lead to an approximate cost of around $12-15000 to hold a ‘standard’ service with burial, as well as hosting the smaller gathering at the Gem at a second date. Please consider contributing even the smallest amount towards these costs, Tony affected many of us to the core, and we would love to put him to rest beautifully, just as he deserves. In the words of Bear; Good good, cheerio, mwah and massive hug’z xox
