As an extended family, we will do a sponsored climb of Catbells together on June 16th to help Jessica raise some funds and make it to Roverway. Roverway is the only European Scout and Guide event for young people aged 16-22. It is organised by the European Scout Region and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts and takes place every 3-6 years. The aims of Roverway include promoting intercultural learning and exchange and enabling meaningful youth leadership opportunities. Roverway is unique in its patrol structure, empowering Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders to organise their patrols and their 'path': an exploration of the host country with patrols from other countries. Roverway is a self-funded adventure, and Jess is doing car boot sales and organising a sponsored event. She has to raise £2000 to go, and any donations towards this total would be greatly appreciated. All of my children have been involved in scouting, from beavers up to explorers, and Jess is also a young leader helping out at 25th Carlisle as a young leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for Jess.
