If you know the Smith Family you would know that we don't normally ask for things like this. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances and things beyond our control, we must. If you've ever been to Lowes, Hunters Mountain Estates, or Trojan Palms you have met Jimmy Smith. Jimmy has always cared for and helped others when needed for so many years. When you've been locked out of your apartment, it was Jimmy who would go unlock it. When you needed help with plumbing, you would go speak to Jimmy. Now, Jimmy is needing your help. Jimmy is a Military Veteran, loving husband, and grandfather and is currently battling Stage 2 Mesothelioma cancer. This is taking a toll on not only him, but the family to get him to the hospital in Birmingham, expenses not covered by insurance, and proper medical care at home. Any donation we are very grateful for in this time of need. We will also keep you updated on his current status. UPDATED: Thursday, August 10 (10:07 pm) Jimmy had to be placed in the hospital due to a sudden drop in his blood pressure. After an examination, the doctors discovered he had phenomena and the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes. Because of the spread of the cancer, hospice has been called. UPDATED: Thursday, August 13 (6:30 am) At 6:30 am this morning Jimmy went to be with the lord. We ask that you keep the Smith Family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this.
