Hi my name is Tia, I am a personal trainer / boxing coach from Liverpool . Recently I moved gyms to old swan ABC. The gym has limited equipment but is an amazing space with some amazing coaches situated within the gym . Coaches within the gym run classes voluntary for younger generations , older generations and minority groups charging as little as £2 per class to cover rent costs of the building, meaning each coach coaches from the goodness of their heart and not driven by profits. Currently at the moment I am running a 4 week LGBTQ+ free boxing group every Friday and am hoping to offer more free services for minority groups such as domestic violence survivors and woman who have been subjected to drink and drugs. The gym in which I am situated in has limited equipment in order to hold classes other than boxing classes. I am trying to raise enough money for additional equipment in order to hold various classes for minority groups. The gym is a community gym and also is the home of weapons down gloves up charity, So a lot of internal elements of the gym are charity or community funded. There’s an option to re locate to a different gym however this gym has become home for a lot of people who attends the small space . The community within the gym and more importantly the acceptance and respect in and around the gym for minority groups is something which is extremely hard to find in other gyms. Wanting to help others is something thats always been in my nature I ran a non profitable organisation for lower income family’s for 7 years and was granted 2 awards from the community at the age of 18. In February this year I quit my job to peruse a career in helping others with mental health issues and other struggles. I run profitable and non profitable services through my business. All my profitable services are through boxing only. i would like to offer and give access to more free fitness related services to lower income family’s and members of the city as I believe we really do rise by lifting others and we can tackle mental health through fitness. Every person should have access to a fitness environment regardless of their minority group or financial position . any donations even as small as 20p would be massively appreciated , hopefully we can raise enough money for the correct equipment in order to deliver quality gym services to the people of our city who can’t afford it . the gym has served our community in many ways for many years and now I hope to give back to both the gym and the people of my city Thank you for reading Tia
