UPDATE: I'm totally blown away by the support we have received and continue to receive for this fundraiser. I started this go fund me with a goal of covering the entire cost of the mentorship and then adjusted the goal to help cover the first couple of months of payments because that felt easier for me to ask (I was given a scholarship of sorts to pay for the program piece by piece.) Since reaching our adjusted goal, I have been encouraged to adjust it once more to the full amount left to cover the entire program. We have received a large sum donation outside of the go fund me platform so that will also be reflected in the new goal as well. For the past six months, in between the demands of the Samosa business and mommy-ing, I have been studying and diving into the world of affiliate marketing and SEO. I have launched a blog, and I have seen the value in the skills that I've begun to learn (content writing, optimizing content for search engine visibility, online business strategy, etc.). However, I have realized that without proper guidance, the learning process and the road to get from where I am now to a successful business model is extremely time-consuming and challenging when going at it alone. That's why I am seeking funding for a 12-month mentorship program in starting an SEO consulting agency. This mentorship will help me move through the most challenging part of starting a business with one-on-one guidance. Something that would take me several years to accomplish will only take months with the help of a personal business coach. By completing the mentorship program, I will be equipped with the skills and knowledge I need to start, grow, and scale a successful SEO consulting agency. (Here's a copy of my business plan) This journey is not just about me. It’s also very much about creating a better life for my family - my daughter Quinn and my partner Alicia. I am incredibly fortunate to have Alicia as my partner and the mother of our daughter, Quinn. I am constantly in awe of her strength and resilience and in the way that she cares so deeply. She is so dedicated and mindful in everything she does, especially when it comes to our family. This career path is my way of expressing my deepest gratitude for her being by my side and giving back to her for all that she has given. Quinn has gifted me so many things, and one of them has been a deepening in the ability to see my value and worth. And I want her to know that for herself too and so I must set the best example I can. Telling her she is worthy and can do anything she sets her heart to is only half of my job - How I show up myself is the other, perhaps more important part. My vision is to create a story for our family that is one of success and determination with a driving force of love. This journey is our story. It's a testament to what's possible when you believe in yourself and work hard to achieve your dreams. I want to show Quinn that she too can achieve what she sets her mind to and that she deserves the life she desires. One of the most important things to me is the ability to work from home and be here with Quinn. Alicia and I are, for the most part, however, managing all of these spinning plates ourselves, which is taking its toll. By accessing this mentorship, I will be able to create an income for our family that will mean Alicia and I aren't spread so desperately thin. With the financial ability to hire in-home support with Quinn, we will have more spaciousness and flexibility in our day-to-day which will directly and profoundly impact our mental and emotional health, the health of our relationship, and ultimately the wellbeing of our family as a whole. .*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*. So, “Why SEO? What even is SEO?!” SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization (English please?)- it’s the process by which websites and online platforms become more visible on Google. Higher visibility on Google means more attention to your website, more customers/clients, and more success for your business. I know and have seen so many friends, neighbors, and community members who have a gift to share, a service to offer, a message to shout, and who are wanting an online presence. I want to support them by driving traffic to their websites, so they can reach as many people as possible.
