Hi Everyone, As I continue to build my equine therapy practice the resources in my area for horse care continue to dry up or be insufficient to meet the needs of my beloveds. Last night I came to check on my Gracie and found her unable to bear weight and her back leg a mangled bloody mess from the hock down to heel bulb. My heart sank and I panicked because I knew there would be no vet to come. How did I know this? I knew because we’ve lost about 4 vets in our area in the past 2 years and most recently the one I had was clear they were hardly available and out of town often! Two weeks ago I had a horse choking and no one ever came. Luckily it resolved on its own. I finally called a vet about an hour and a half out who said they do not service my area but could come out but the charge to show up pre treatment was $500. Gracie got sedated, pain meds, antibiotics, cleaned, debridded, X-ray and dressed and bandaged. She’s on the mend and we could sure use any donation you are able to give. She’s been a favorite in the equine facilitated therapy here! Please support her and is and the lives Gracie touches!
