Hi there, A group of 11 ECU Nursing Students from the Joondalup and Southwest campuses are heading to Vietnam in October 2024 for an international placement with the Nineteen degrees organisation. We will be based out of Hanoi and Mai Chau for a duration of 17 days with a focus on primary healthcare where we will volunteer in the local hospital and operate mobile clinics in surrounding villages. Our group will organise and run education sessions for local communities focusing on health promotion. We will also indulge in the local culture with our accommodation including home stays with local families. The money raised will go directly to the local communities we visit in Vietnam. This includes 'days for girls' menstruation packs and other supplies deemed appropriate by our group such as medical equipment and health promotion projects. In recent years, money raised by students visiting a number of different countries has gone towards running water stations and purchasing animals to aid less fortunate communities. All donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards making a difference to those in Vietnam communities. Thanks!
