55 Years on this blue marble that we call Earth, is all that we had with our family, friend... Douglas McCall Doug is now with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. He’s gone HOME. He’s journeyed Home…with our Heavenly Father. He’s home…with his Dad & Mom Most of us know him as “Doug”, "Dougie" and even still, as “Mr. McCall”... by some of his former students and their parents. Some of us lovingly referred to him as “This Gringo, White Boy”, He spoke terrible Spanish, despite being married for over 16 years to a Redheaded, Latin, Cuban girl . . . …Terry “Teresita” McCall. One of his favorite few Spanish words was… "Dale" (with a terrible accent. LOL) If you knew Doug, you knew he was a fantastic, loving, giving man, husband and father. Doug cherished FAMILY FIRST. Especially his daughter Emily, who lived with him and Terry till this day. His son Randall and daughter-in-law, Sammy and their two daughters (Doug’s granddaughters) But those of us that weren’t home with him, experienced his “deepest love” for his wife Terry, whom he adored and would do anything for. He was an AWESOME FRIEND TOO. PROFESSIONALLY As a musician, he was a High School Teacher, Band Director, Church Music Director, Pianist/Organist or Special Events wherever he was called to be. As a businessman, he was a financial planner and an avid Dave Ramsey teacher at Miami Vineyard Community Church. “THE IRONY” THAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW As a financial planner, Doug sold life insurance, but due to his health (prostate and heart condition with 5 heart stents throughout his life), he could NOT secure life insurance for himself. Leaving our sister, his wife, Terry –now a widow– facing financial challenges in the days to come. We come together in this LFEBridge campaign to honor Douglas and provide support to his beloved wife Terry (our friend and sister) during this difficult time. Douglas didn’t make excuses and with his God-given entrepreneurial spirit, he tried multiple business ventures to provide and prepare for a future for his family. But his passing cut short his plans. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21 NIV Most of us also saw how deeply in love he is with his wife Terry. He would do anything and everything for Terry. YOUR PART? Pray. And we ask you here to please help, instead of flowers, to consider honoring Douglas by giving financially to help support his wife, Terry, in these coming days and months. It will provide Terry with financial and spiritual assistance in the coming months, as she gets past this life-altering shock as God uses YOU to help her get through this. To help her put her life and purpose together. Douglas was a GIVER. He cheerfully gave away his money to people in need, even when he didn’t have much himself. He consistently gave his “time” and “talents” when he played and performed and volunteered free of charge at Miami Vineyard Community Church and other events and venues …for years. Please ask the Lord in prayer to speak to you and see how he moves you to financially give and help at this time. ANY amount, whether it be $5 or over $1,000, know that You will make a difference. No amount is too small. Small is relative... Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” “Mark 12:43-44 (NIV) If you find that the Lord moves you to help Douglas’ wife at this time, then please do so. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: To look after orphans and widows in their distress to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27 (NIV) Give whatever amount the Lord moves you to give and help, Terry's humility is appreciative of whatever amount you can give; or even if you can’t. “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” –2 Corinthians 9:7 You will be a blessing to her and in Doug’s forever memory. In Luke 6:38, God’s word reminds us to… “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Thank you. ------------------------------------------------------------- RE: Funeral/Viewing “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” Scheduled for: Saturday, August 5, 2024 10:00 AM to 12 NOON Location: Miami Vineyard Community Church 12725 SW 122 Ave Miami, FL 33186 For Additional Questions, you may call: (305) FIVE-95-1195 Albert Muiña (786) FOUR-88-8800 Michael Ruiz
