hello, my name is Amy and I am Bentley and Novi's owner. Two amazing dogs. (You can follow us on Instagram Thehandsomepugboys Novi is 19 weeks old and on July 17th in the evening he was playing in the garden when he suddenly started coughing. This started around 9:30 pm. He kept playing but also coughing. We finally went to bed where he plopped down and fell asleep but he still couched a bit. But around a quarter to 2 he panicked and started coughing more and then his breathing changed too and he started sounding stuffy. I Immediately called the animal hospital where we immediately drove to. On the way he almost suffocated and once there he was immediately taken for oxygen. X-rays were taken of his airways and they saw something in his trachea and esophagus. He was immediately prepared for an endoscopy. Unfortunately they found nothing, only a lot of mucus and irritation. Once awake it went reasonably well as long as he remained calm. On Monday they took several pictures throughout the day and his trachea was getting smaller and smaller. He kept coughing. Tuesday morning things went wrong. He was immediately intubated and put to sleep. We also decided to make a CT scan. After the CT scan I was allowed to see him. It's heartbreaking to see your dog like this. Intubated, asleep, so young, so small! Fortunately, we saw on the CT scan that there was indeed something in his trachea. Near his lungs. Immediately another scope was done and they removed a seed from his trachea. We don't know what kind of seed at the moment. Unfortunately, his trachea was so irritated and full of inflammation and debris that they didn't dare wake him. Unfortunately, things went bad again that night. So bad that they wanted to call me to come right away. They then put him to a deeper sleep. And with these thoughts I had to go into the night. Wednesday (this morning, July 19th) I got a call around 9 o'clock that Novi had made it through the night well and that they were going to wake him up!! At this moment (19 July, 17.00) Novi is awake. He ate, drank, pooped and peed. He does still have oxygen, which they are phasing out. I go to him at half past eight. He will stay there one more night anyway. And if all goes well he can come home tomorrow. You do understand that this is going to be a costly bill. He's in an emergency clinic. (Evidensia) A bill that I would love to pay, but unfortunately I don't have the option. I have to borrow money from other people to pay for this. At the moment I don't know what it will cost. Before the CT scan we were already around € 4000 Of course I will post the bill here as soon as I have it. Every little bit helps and we will be eternally grateful for it! So if you want to help us (Novi, Bentley and myself) and especially can help, we would appreciate it very much. I will also post an update as soon as I know more. Thank you very much! lots of love, Amy, Novi and Bentley
