On June 29, 2024, we suddenly lost my brother, Marcel Gransjean, at the age of sixty to a tragic work-related accident. Marcel left behind his wife, Cheryl Reside, and their two sons, Nicholas (age 15) and Christopher (age 9). My name is Terry Gransjean-Thomson, and I've created this fundraiser to help Cheryl and my two nephews, whose lives have now been turned upside down due to the loss of their loving, supportive, husband and father, Marcel. Marcel was a talented self-employed contractor in London, Ontario. In addition to being known as a hard-worker, he was also a committed family man - always prioritizing his family and their needs above all else. After a long day of laborious work, Marcel would make his way to the field or diamond to attend his son's sporting events, and looked forward to hearing about their day, while sharing updates on the projects he worked on too. Through this quality time with their father, the boys learned the value of hard work and how to use various tools from a very young age. In fact, Nicholas has already stepped up and fixed his little brother's fort in the absence of their handy father. Marcel's integrity and skill forged many lengthy business relationships; some which spanned generations. He always looked after others, including neighbours, who needed work or a helping hand, often without expecting anything in return. He was generous, kind and well liked by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Aside from losing a loving father and husband, Cheryl and the two young boys have also lost the main provider of their family. My hope in raising money for them is to lessen the added financial burden that comes with such a sudden death during an already difficult time. Together, we can ensure that Cheryl, Nicholas and Christopher's futures remain full of hope and opportunity. The funds raised will help cover immediate expenses related to Marcel's death, as well as his family's day to day living expenses as they adjust to their new life. Cheryl plans to use some of your contributions to keep Nicholas and Christopher in the activities they love like baseball and football, despite no longer having their number one fan cheering them on from the sidelines. Both young boys are smart and gifted students. To help ensure bright futures, some of the funds raised will be allocated towards their education and will be put in trust for them to support their academic pursuits. Any amount of donation you may be able to provide would be appreciated; If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask you to share this page with others who may not have heard the news or would simply like to donate. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Please continue to keep Marcel and his family in your thoughts and prayers as we grieve the loss of this important man in our lives.
