My uncle, Arthur Shahbazian, passed away on July 6th, 2024. My uncle had a special gift and way with animals. Birds would flock to him, stray and very feral cats would approach him without fear, and even bunnies in our yard would hop towards him, rather than away from him. Although he had a very difficult life with many struggles, including two open heart surgeries, he was able to overcome any obstacle in life by finding hope & strength in rescuing and caring for animals, especially cats. My uncle was in care of 16 cats (rescues) when he tragically passed away in a car accident. Before his passing, he expressed wanting to save money so that when his time came and he would no longer be here, there was a place for his cats to go. He hoped to arrange something with a local agency where he could donate a sum of money and know that his cats would not be euthanized for no reason. After all, he spent his whole life protecting cats from this kind of treatment, but he knew that our family does not have the means or ability to do what he did for his babies. Unfortunately, none of us know when our time is and he never had the opportunity to set aside and plan for this. We are hoping to carry out his wishes and make sure his kitties (or babies, as he would call them), are in a safe, comfortable environment. Any wishes, suggestions, or donations are deeply appreciated.
