Hi, my name is Deepali Kanchanavally. I am a rising junior, and I have been playing the cello for about 10 years. I started playing with a cardboard cello when I was 6 years old. So far I have rented the instruments to practice and play. I love my current rental instrument so much, and it has been with me for 4 years. I used the same cello to go all the way to TMEA All State Symphony Orchestra. I was one of the 42 cellists that qualified across Texas from more than 500 cellists that competed at All State level. Music has become a very important and most fun part of my life. I am lucky to have amazing teachers to nurture and improve my skill. I am about to start competing in further competitions at the state and national levels in the fall. I have also been volunteering at senior homes and hospitals by playing regularly for them on my cello. I believe that I can make much better sound with a better cello than what I am currently playing with. I have been working with my teacher to look at a few options. I am hoping to find a good instrument that matches my character and personality very soon. While the price can vary considerably, I am looking for a modest cello around $10,000. I would like to help my parents by pitching in. Hence, I am starting this campaign to help raise funds for a new cello. It would be my honor to support my parents by collecting donations from friends and family.
