Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read... I have created this page to allow contributions towards dental surgery for my cat, Lumen, at the end of the month. I was just told that she has skeletal occlusion which means that her 2 upper molars are misaligned with her lower molars, so every time she bites down she is destroying those teeth and puncturing her gums. Her 2 lower molars are now completely rotten and the dead tissue is just sitting in her mouth causing pain and infection. The lesions are sore and extremely swollen. The only solution is to remove the offending teeth, as well as the destroyed teeth (4 in total, barring any surprises). This is a full day surgery with anesthesia, a COHAT exam, x-rays, scaling & gingivitis cleaning etc (estimated at $2700+). I had no idea she had this abnormality and it is likely she has been suffering for over a year. My poor, tough girl She is the sweetest cat and even now, her disposition is unchanged. She LIVES for warm snuggles and is the friendliest cat in the world. If you know me, you know I don't like asking for money or letting people pay for things. You also know I wouldn't be asking unless I really needed the help, and that I would do just about anything for my animals. Most of you are aware that I'm in the middle of a major career change, and at this moment in time my income is unreliable and inconsistent. By the end of August my current work placement will be finished and I will be jobless. Even though I am working 6 days a week right now, I've had a few big financial setbacks this year (including a recent $1,000+ vet bill for my other cat) that will make this a really challenging expense for me to cover. ANY help and contribution is appreciated, of any size. It is difficult for me to swallow my pride and ask for help but my cats mean the world to me and I will do whatever I can to keep them healthy. Surgery is scheduled for July 28th and follow up is approximately a week later. Thank you for your consideration ⬛
