A few years ago, I accepted the challenge of going back to school to enhance my skills and knowledge of Film, Theater & Media Arts. It has not been an easy path but one that I have enjoyed tackling over the past few years. Throughout this journey, I have worked with some outstanding people that have motivated me to learn more about the industry for which I have so much passion. I am so thankful for being in a position that allows me to share my gifts with people all over the world.Now, a wonderful opportunity (possibly once-in-a-lifetime) has presented itself in the form of my acceptance into Temple Theaters London Study Away program. In the Temple Theater London program, I will have the opportunity to experience first-hand London’s vibrant society while enriching my understanding of theater and the arts in a global context.Throughout my academic and career path, I have cherished the support from my friends, family, and colleagues. The only obstacle standing in the way of me taking advantage of a life-changing experience is the hefty out of pocket cost to actively participate and benefit from the program. Although my scholarships and grants will cover a great deal of the program cost (upward of $20,000 for the three-month period), the balance will need to come from outside sources. I have never been good at seeking financial assistance as I have always tried to do things on my own or find some way to avoid asking folks for help. After consulting with a few close friends, I have decided to put it out there and see what happens. Whether five dollars or fifty, every cent will be used to make this student’s dream come true.
