Hello, my name is Brett Turnquist. Darlene was my mother. My father died when I was one, and I've always been an only child. When I was about 12 or 13, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She survived. Made a full recovery even! Life went on as normal, she cycled through a few different jobs.. She was such an incredible customer service agent because she cared. She made everyone feel heard and understood. She was, out of her 'group' the best. Customers always gave her 10/10 on her reviews because she could take an angry person, frustrated with their situation, and turn them into a smiling, happy person. That's just who she was. She also always supported me in my dreams and aspirations. She told coworkers, friends, and even strangers about my music. That's what I'm going to miss the most, is her unconditional love, and support. No one supported me as she did. I'm blessed to have had her as a mother. About two months ago, she started having back pain. Terrible, terrible back pain. At first, we thought something was out in her back, since she worked from home, she sat a lot, so I tried to show her yoga poses, stretches, and exercises that might help. It did not. Next, she started getting sharp stomach pain, which we thought, we were almost certain that she had celiac disease. But then the test came back negative for that.. On her FOURTH ER visit, they finally ran some tests and found a large mass on her pancreas, and two smaller masses on her liver. A few days later, she was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer. Three days after that, I woke up in the morning, and. found her in the bathroom. She was gone. The reason I've started this LFEBridge, is because I want to have a viewing open to the public, where for one day, this Friday, people that knew her or knew of her can come visit, and see her and say their goodbyes. Luckily my Aunt Julie's church generously offered to hold the service for no charge. But It's important to me that people in town that knew her, would get to see her and say goodbye, because many people knew her, and loved her. The viewing and cremation cost is $5,000, which the funeral home wants upfront. I don't have that. Anything you can donate would help us through this, and I wish I didn't have to ask for this, but I know a lot of people out there knew her and adored her. Thank you, -Brett Turnquist
