“…to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here… “-Ralph Waldo Emerson Danielle was a free spirited Warrior, with a heart of gold, creative passion and determination that could have set the world on fire. She was fearless by nature with a magnetic personality, and loved by so many. She was also the most selfless woman I have ever known. Danielle gave the gift of motherhood, the most precious gift anyone could give to another, a precious little life to love and call my own. On March 18, 2015, Lucy Mae Bergen was born. To this day, I don’t know how she did it. Her strength has awed me. I was in a dark place, having tried for seven years to have a baby of my own. Then came Danielle, who chose me to be Lucy’s Mom. While I was on cloud nine, I knew that Danielle’s heart was breaking yet somehow, by God’s hand, we developed an unbreakable bond for this baby girl that continued beyond the hospital walls. Danielle used to tell me that having Lucy saved her life, and I would tell her that it was She and Lucy who saved mine. Danielle has left this world a better place. She brought a child into it, and I have breathed easier because she lived here. She will be missed dearly by her family, all who have known and loved her and by Lucy who she had not met but will grow up to know that she had a strong and courageous Mom that gave her life. Danielle’s family and I would like to honor her in a way that she deserves, and would like to have somewhere Lucy can go and remember her. If you would like to donate anything to her family to help with her burial and celebration of life we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
