Hello my name is Katia Arizmendi I am Daniela’s good friend and God mother to her beautiful baby girl Camila. With the permission of Daniela’s fiancé and family I am creating this LFEBridge to help them during this time of need and desperation. On April 27, 2024 Daniela put herself in the trust and hands of “Dr.” at River Side Surgical Center located in Matamoros, Tamaulipas - Mexico. Unfortunately she would quickly discover that many women who went to Matamoros around the same time she did were being diagnosed with Fungal Meningitis; Fungal meningitis is a rare, life-threatening fungal infection that causes swelling of the areas around the brain and spinal cord. Because of the severity of her condition we are compelled to ask the RGV+ community for help during these unprecedented times. Daniela is a wonderful woman, daughter, sister, fiancé, mother and friend and is FIGHTING for her life. She has been hospitalized since May 22, 2024 has undergone various surgeries, potent medication treatments, VP Shunt that turned left when excessive brain bleeding was found which then resulted a craniotomy to locate the bleeding source which then was found to be a hemorrhage. She has endured more than anyone can even imagine and is still holding on to life trying to survive for her daughter (1 year 5 months old) and all of us who love her dearly. Any amount big or small will be sure to help her family make this process less stressful. Prayers are very much appreciated and May God multiply your generosity, we will post updates when possible.
