My name is Dani Franada and I've recently been presented with an incredible opportunity to represent Canada's national rugby league team- the Canada Ravens- in the upcoming North American Championship being played in Kingston, Jamaica! With the intent to grow the game both domestically and within North America, all while beginning to build towards the Rugby League World Cup set for 2026, the Canada Ravens will start preparations by facing both the USA Eagles and Jamaica in international fixtures this September. The opportunities for this team to not only gather to train together but further play in competitive fixtures are invaluable in laying the groundwork for a successful campaign in the upcoming Rugby League World Cup and beginning to pave pathways for players to grow within the game. However, as a developing sport in most of the continent, and further, as a squad that is spread not only throughout Canada but with players scattered across the globe, this opportunity bares a cost to overcome geographical burdens to gather and create a competitive training environment. As one of the players currently localized outside of Canada (currently residing in Dublin, Ireland) my associated costs to join a centralized camp in Toronto before the pay-to-play tour in Jamaica are further increased. Therefore, I am graciously asking for financial donations to ease the burden of travel, accommodation, meals & other expenses associated to have the honor of representing Canada in this opportunity. Any support would be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading & sharing if you can!
