Hi everyone, we (James, James and Beccy) are currently volunteering at the Lemiti Kingergarten in Tanzania. The children we are looking after are members of the Maasai tribe, a local community near Moshi. There are around 60 children who attend the nursery, and as you can imagine the levels of sanitation are very low. Many children regularly get cuts, and poor hygiene leads to a much higher rate of disease. This is worsened by the fact there are no toilets; they have holes in the ground that they use instead. With this in mind, we felt building flushing toilets and washbasins would massively improve life for these children and the teachers caring for them. We plan to build two toilets for the children, and a toilet for the teachers. We have set up this LFEBridge to raise money for this purpose. Our goal of £750 will provide enough money for the complete construction of these toilets. Any excess money raised will be used for other resources, such as nutritional meals and goal posts for their break times. We would massively appreciate any support and we know the children will too. Thank you.
