Claire Vermette's Road to Professional Golf My name is Claire Vermette, and I am looking to become a professional golfer. I began my golf journey with the First Tee of Saint Petersburg and went on to play Division I golf at Jacksonville State University for five years. Currently, I am finishing my master’s degree online while working and playing out of Belleair Country Club in Clearwater, Florida. I will soon be competing in Q-school to pursue my LPGA Tour Card. To begin this journey, I will be remaining an amateur through the first stage of Q-school. I am looking for some help to fund my goal of becoming a professional golfer, as there are a lot of contributing factors to the success of a professional athlete. I have started a LFEBridge to facilitate my dream to play professional golf! It's been a long road from when I first started playing golf at the age of 8. Through the First Tee of Saint Petersburg, I grew to love the game at a young age which ultimately piqued my interest to become a college golfer. I was selected to go to Pebble Beach for the Pure Insurance Pebble Beach Open in 2016 based on my volunteer hours through the First Tee program, GPA, playing ability, and other factors. I was a volunteer and assistant coach at The First Tee through the end of High School as I tried to give back to a program that inspired me at a young age.In High school, I earned a full-ride scholarship and a spot on the Jacksonville State women’s golf team. JSU gave me the opportunity to become the golfer I am today through an incredible practice facility and various coaches that believed in my ability. At the end of my college career, I had the third-best career scoring average in JSU history (accumulated over 5 years), the second-best season scoring average in JSU history at 73.09 (my final year), earned the Eagle Owl Award for best outstanding Female Athlete at JSU, was named on the all-conference team for the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) and received accolades for All-Academic Team for the ASUN conference for my respective GPA and scoring average. After capping off a tremendous year and college golf career, it has merged into the pursuit to become a professional.I am now working and playing out of Belleair Country Club in Clearwater, Florida. I recently qualified to play in the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship in Los Angeles, California. I am looking forward to prepping for Q-school through a variety of tournaments and an exceptional home golf course!Thank you, everyone, for your support!Sincerely,Claire
