It’s official, Cirque Us is back and ready to hit the road for our TENTH tour, and this time around we’re switching things up! Not only are we creating a BRAND NEW SHOW for the first time since 2019, but this will be our first tour with a social mission at the forefront of our creative process. We can’t WAIT to share with you: “Cirque Us Stories.” "Cirque Us Stories" is a new, thoughtfully curated show that flips through the pages of our troupe's favorite stories to bring you a touching, thrilling narrative about community and identity. Interweaving a collection of folktales, classic literature, children’s stories, modern fiction, and more, this show jumps off the page with twists, flips, rewrites, and retellings of stories you'll love. The show features aerialists, jugglers, acrobats, contortionists, clowns, and more, all ready to fly off the shelf and straight to you. As part of our mission to spread circus magic and build confident communities, we are thrilled to share that this new show is being developed specifically with community in mind. Alongside our regular performance venues, we have partnered with a set of schools, libraries, and community centers to bring the circus directly to the people. Access to high-quality performance and arts education is a precious commodity, and through the help of strategic partnerships and grant funding, we are so excited to support the reach and accessibility of the arts with this show. Looking ahead, we have exciting plans and hopes to see droves of new audiences, young readers, and future artists attend Cirque Us Stories free of charge, all across New England. Our goal with this Fall tour is to fine-tune the show and develop promotional materials that will help us bring Cirque Us Stories to more schools and libraries in years to come. This project’s long-term goal is to become a staple of the communities we visit, functioning to inspire young artists, support literacy and arts education, and fundraise for schools, libraries, and other community centers. Because this project is a new venture for Cirque Us, this Fall is proudly hybrid, stopping at a blend of libraries, schools, theaters, and performing arts festivals. There is so much potential and so much good work to be done with this show; we cannot wait to see how it grows over the next few years. To get ahead on an undertaking as big as this, we’re turning to you for help. Support from the greater Cirque Us community has always been crucial in developing our new works, and with the greatest humility and gratitude we’re asking for aid in whatever amount you can afford. Your donation not only assures you another great season of top-tier circus, but also our ability to share that circus with the most new faces to date.
