Hi there, I adopted my first (and only) dog Chloe from The Milo Foundation in Richmond, Ca. in May 2024. Chloe is a one and a half year old American bully mix, who was diagnosed with Angular Limb Deformity. The readers digest version of this that her two front legs are growing at a bowed angle, if the deformity continues her legs will bow out to the point where she’ll be walking on her ankles and in extreme pain. I started to notice her front legs were bowing out and she would get really sore after just a short walk around the block and only a few minutes of playtime until she was unable to play without pain and soreness. This broke my heart as she’s just a puppy trying to live and enjoy her best life. I took her to my vet and got her diagnoses for ALD. I was told there were funds that would help with the surgery but once we got her first appointment scheduled at U.C. Davis November, 2024… I was told there were no such funds. Pet insurance wasn’t an option for this, they said this wasn’t a type of “injury” covered. Her first surgery was on her left leg and was completed March 2024, she had a 16 week recovery. Im so grateful to be able to have a mom come babysit while I’m at work.. we have to go through another 16 week recovery and surgery on her right leg coming up in July. The first surgery tallied around $8,500. Which I’m still paying off… her second surgery is scheduled for July 26th, and will be around another $6,000… I’m asking for help in paying her surgery so she can have a better quality of life. Even if you can’t donate, please share this. Thank you.
