Dear Friends, We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to you today on behalf of the enthusiastic members and supporters of the Corozal, Gatun, and Mount Hope Cemetery Preservation Foundation (CGM), a non-profit organization registered in the USA and in Panama. CGM is an organization deeply committed to preserving and honoring the memories of our ancestors who sacrificed so much of their time, energy and even lives toward the construction and maintenance of the Panama Canal. They are the unsung heroes whose sacrifices and contributions to the construction of the Panama Canal continues to be marginalized, and now nearing extinction in Panamanian history. We are planning to erect a monument at Corozal Cemetery honoring our ancestors and their families who are buried there. To accomplish this goal, we are seeking generous contributions from individuals, businesses, and organizations. Your support will enable us to cover the costs associated with designing, constructing and maintaining the monument. Phase 1, we initially need to raise $20,000 by August 11, 2024. With your support, the groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, 2024, during the week of the 109th anniversary of the inauguration of the Panama Canal. We invite you to donate whatever you can to our mission.
