It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of an extraordinary woman, Kathaleen Cecelia Collins. She slipped quietly away from us July 1, 2024. Over the last several years she suffered heart failure and complications from long-covid. She fought a valiant fight to regain her health and achieve a full recovery. Apparently the damage was too much to overcome. She was in a beautiful place in her life physically, mentally and spiritually; sadly she was taken from us far too soon. She was a profound lover of animals, fierce advocate for women, LGBTQ, the underprivileged, and underserved. Her academic and professional accolades are vast. She was a proud alumni of Beaumont School for Girls, she earned her Bachelor's in Peace Studies from Chapman University, a Master's from Claremont University, and was ABD for her PhD. She interned for the Hon. Ted Kennedy, taught Global Citizenship while developing the Freshman Seminar Program, was Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood for San Bernardino county. Among her many other endeavors, included her walking group, reading group, and civic engagements, auditing a class at Yale, and deepening her yoga practices. Her thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, her passion for life inextinguishable, but her love remains eternal. Her beloved friends and family are asking for donations to assist with final expenses. All donations will go to the funeral home. Please join us in celebrating her life. There will be a short viewing Saturday, July 8th from 11am-1pm and a 10am visitation and memorial service Monday, July 10, 2024 at at Schulte Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst Ohio.
