Carol did not have life insurance. http://www.rinehartandsons.com/m/?p=memorial&id=2108242Carol is my little sister, and this big sister wants to help her in her battle with what began as Type 3 Meningioma brain tumors, but became diagnosed as Stage 4 Glioblastoma (malignant brain tumors). Here are the words from her adult daughter Anne at the beginning of Carol's battle: " In case anyone is curious... My mom's meningioma is not one that can be ignored or lived with. It has grown over 3x the original size when we discovered it in August. My mom can't drive, she has aphasia (which means she can't say the words she wants to, much like stroke patients) Yet, she continues to try to take care of her 3 elementary age kids". Turns out the tumor was glioblastoma grade 4 which is malignant brain cancer. After 2 surgeries for the meningionomas, she recieved a clean MRI in March 2015. In August 2015 , she began having speech problems again. An MRI reveiled the Glioblastoma. She went to Emory and recieved surgery, a radiation treatment during surgery and then further radiation and chemo treatments. Emory doctors discharged Carol from their care when the glioblastoma resumed growth in 2016. There will be no further surgeries, radiation nor chemo as the glioblastoma continues to progress. As of last week, October 17, 2017, 2 years and 2 months after the glioblastoma diagnosis, Carol has been discharged from her current physician in Brunswick as the glioblastoma is once again growing rapidly. Her doctor called her a miracle. She has outlived the average life span of 9 months after positive diagnosis. She is one of only the 30% who live 2 years after diagnosis.Carol is a miracle, and we thank the Lord for His mercies in giving her that time with her family. Sadly, , the doctor has recommended hospice care, and now Carol is being cared for by kind hospice workers. Please pray for Carol, Steve her husband, and her children. There are and will be many financial needs. Any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support! Carol's 3 youngest children.Carol With her grandson Luca.
