My name is Wanda Montanez I am the niece of the beloved late, Candido Montanez Jr. aka Monty for those in his hometown in Beaufort, South Carolina. Candido was a beloved, son, brother, uncle, and cousin to his family. As a spokesperson on behalf of the family, We come to you, with hopes of receiving assistance, in order to find the person or persons of interests in regards to the MURDER of my uncle! My uncle was killed on July 10, 2024, at approximately 11 pm on St. Helena Island. He was returning home from work and was dropped off by a co-worker, at Parker's Kitchen Gas station, He waited for his girlfriend to pick him up however, that did not occur, instead, he decided to walk home. The drive would be about 3 minutes from where they lived, however, the walk is much longer. His deceased body was located by a motorist on Club Bridge Road near Seaside Road. In the roadway. He sustained numerous gunshot wounds. My uncle was 66, hard working, peaceful, and dedicated to coaching and mentoring children in his community. He loved sports and is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Perfectly capable of taking care of himself if no imminent threat. He did not deserve to be killed so violently, in cold blood. Why would anyone want to take his life for what reason??? No one has answers at this time and the investigation is ongoing however, this is really hard for my family and we just want JUSTICE for my uncle! There are a lot of things that don't add up and WE are desperate for answers. It is our hope, by creating this LFEBridge we can raise enough funds to offer a reward, to get to the bottom of this tragedy. Our family needs closure and the hopes that we can bring a resolution with Justice for my uncle. Please help us find out who really killed my uncle, we need your support.
