Ziggy Stardust just turned two years old on June 14th. We live in Maine, and her best friend Sage lives nearby. Last winter, on an icy day, they ran outside to play their favorite game, chase & tumble in the snow. Unfortunately, Ziggy slipped on some ice and came back inside limping. After several weeks, the vet said we needed a surgical consultation, but I waited several months, hoping she might get better on her own. But her limp got worse and soon became constant. Despite the fact that I do not have funds for a surgery, I took her to the doggie surgeon for the x-rays and diagnosis. In short, her whole knee needs to be rebuilt ("medial patellar luxation and a cranial cruciate rupture"). It will not get better without the surgery (despite all my wishes…). Price tag for the whole process: $7500. She’s the sweetest 90-pound mutt ever, and she’s got years of playing ahead of her, once she gets this bad knee fixed. Can you contribute to making this surgery possible? She’d really like to be running around again with her friend Sage! We would be forever grateful for any contribution, and in exchange I will send a small hand-crafted textile gift. Love & gratitude to all, Katrina & Ziggy
