Hi there, I'm Jordie Laidlaw, the mind behind Ignus, a flaming sunflower we're bringing from Terrace, BC to Burning Man, Nevada. Made by a passionate team, including Indigenous Nisga'a artist Zachary Canuel, Ignus tells the sunflower's life story through fire and steel. The project was inspired by my experiences working in the ICU throughout the pandemic. Ignus was designed to draw people to gather under its inverted flames, to kindle new connections and scratch the primeval-itch that only flames can provide. Our journey's partly funded by a Burning Man grant, but we need your support for: - Fuel and travel costs for our crew $5000 - Crew food throughout the journey $1000 - Extra solar batteries and lights for Ignus $700 - Backup parts and hardware for on-playa repairs $800 - Propane and propane accessories $1000 We are fully committed to bringing Ignus to the playa this year and any donation you make will make things much easier for us. Every donation brings us closer to lighting up the desert with Ignus' fiery bloom. Join us in this blaze of hope and rebirth.
