Hello, If you have met Brian you probably know she's the most amazing dog but also that she has a tendency to be severely broken most of the time. Since Brian was fostered and then adopted in 2019 she has had a multitude of health issues that have resulted in 5 major surgical procedures. It must be some sort of record. Her last major surgery was only at the end of May, when she had 3 cancerous tumours removed. Brian was just starting to recover from that surgery when she fractured her femur very badly on the 19th of July. She spent 4 days at two different vets, needed emergency veterinary attention and a serious surgery to reconstruct her leg with plates and a bunch of screws. We now know that this break was caused by osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer that is only starting to show on a cellular level but weakened her bone to the point of fracture when chasing a ball. Even though Brian is insured, her treatments have vastly gone over her insurance's limit repeatedly. Unfortunately the consistent vet bills in the last 3 years are becoming unsustainable for me, and with her rescue back up gone (it was small rescue that no longer exist) I am asking for help on this occasion. This procedure's bills currently amount to £7957.74 and we are hoping the insurance will pay her maximum of £3000 per treatment. I know Brian is loved by many, if you'd like to help with her latest vet bills we would be incredibly grateful. I don't expect to get the full amount but any help will make a difference as we know we have more treatments ahead (even if it's just palliative) that won't be covered by insurance. I also want to say thank you so much for all the support and love we've received so far, Brian is quite a cool dog. Thank you so much, Esther (Brian's emotional support human)
